Smith & Wesson store

I have a bunch of TangoDown mags still in the packaging, my big question is whether to load them up or not?

I too placed an order for mags from the S&W store and I don't mind waiting, but I wonder what happens if legislation passes before the mags ship that bans high-capacity mags.

Do you think current orders will be grandfathered in or cancelled?

Cancelled would be my guess, that is why people are willing to pay 50 bucks for them today. I can live with 10 rounders if I must.

The store was closed from 12-23 through the new year, that means no one was processing the orders during that time. I am sure if they had 10000 mags in stock they all sold out during the frenzied buying during that week. They have updated the site with out of stock on all mags. Give them a break these are not ordinary times with ordinary amounts of buying, I am sure you realize this.

If you really need mags you can find them on ebay or gunbroker for about 50 bucks a pop, if you can wait until the dust settles you can save 100%

Never said I needed mags... It simple good business practice... Inventory control... 2+2=4 real hard..

Do you think if you ordered a new handgun they would know if they had it in stock or not? Business is business.. Don't matter if your selling trips to the moon or widgets...

They have made the adjustment now , better late than never..

I did place an order for mags too, a few 15-22 mags... No biggie, i have have a dozen but thought i might want some in unopened packages.
My big concern is the 15T upper i purchased, if its 2 months away, ill buy something else, somewhere else. Again, no biggie, i would just like to know. Ive called S&W 3 times in the past 2 days and have been on hold for close to an hour each time..
I wish i had their problems. Ha!

I called s&w 3 days ago. Because I never got a confirmation email on my magazine order. they informed me they lost 3000 + email orders because their computers were overloaded so good luck.

Well I guess I was lucky, I got a email with a order number. Now I just have to wait until they can fill the order, but it beats paying 50-100 bucks a mag.

I guess you missed the part where they place was empty for over a week. No one was working at S&W during the holiday week so it would have been pretty hard to update the system as online orders poured in.

Your order number means nothing. I was told by a S&W rep no mags are being manufactured until things get sorted out in Washington. You can believe it or not.

I would more inclined to believe that if you said a magpul rep told you they weren't making them. Not sure why a S&W sales rep would be speaking for magpul.

I don't believe it. I assign no credibility to any statement regarding company operations that a first level S&W customer service representative issues about S&W, let alone a different company.

Smith & Wesson are GREAT folks. It may take a while, because of the current insanity, but S&W will make good on the sales.

I was a gun writer for over two decades and S&W was one of the few companies that always was totally square with me.

God Bless,

Hello all,

I just placed an order for misc 15 accessories from S&W's web store... My question is, if its in their store, are the items in stock and ready to ship??

Thanks and have a great NYE

B

In a word, No. I ordered a M41 barrel in July, still don't have it.

gdauth...what is a M41 barrel?

I looked at the link for Magpul and they are ready to ramp up production of lower cap mags. I am in a Repub (I get the danged colors confused) state. I dont expect any gun legislation!! God I hope.

The Invention of Computerized inventory management systems.
We have had these systems for decades now... It's not rocket science...

I would highly doubt MagPul would stop production of a highly successful product that they no doubt sell in many places around the world because of concerns in the U.S.

I WAS QUOTING WHAT I WAS TOLD BY THE S&W REP. HOW THE HELL WOULD HE KNOW WHAT MAGPUL IS DOING?

I wouldn't know, you are the one quoting him...

My post is a simple statement using logic to make an informed guess as to possible actions taken by MagPul..

If logical thinking makes you mad maybe you should scale back on your caffeine intake..
