Snake repellant?

I bought a commercial snake repellent, to use near the door of our pool enclosure where the snakes like to lie in wait for my wife (non-poisonous) and scare her.

I, for one, am relieved to hear that your wife is non-poisonous. Having an armed, trapshooter spouse is one thing, having and armed and venomous spouse is quite another...

Snake Repellent Systems

Snake Repellent Systems- I would like to share previous and recent facts about Snake Repellents. The attempt to create a proper working Snake Repellent not Barrier has been attempted since 1920. Their is a patent Registered under Snake Repellent Identifier. Basic studies into individual breakdowns of different components. However this study is limited.

The general consensus is that Snake Repellents don't work. Well the true answer is a proper one has never been developed (Until Recently) The Moth balls barely work, and pepper sprays don't work. You may get a "possible retreat" but it is not because of the OC in the pepper but the misting may be disturbing to a snake and we have tested in many cases no response except and backwind and effected ourselves which made the scenario more dangerous.

Now in regards to Barriers they pose a few issues, Cost and maintenance to keep the area properly sprayed or granulated. Again the issue with this is proper spread MUST be acquired and still has a limited effect. Depending if a snake is tracking when the barrier is approached it MIGHT take effect.

Now back to the recent development. A Very strong following of Herpetologist, Zoologicals, Veterinarians have expressed support and following of a new Product designed, created, tested in addition the new product is about to start a media campaign with Wildlife Experts on different networks.

The product has been designed within the guidelines of the EPA & FDA as well as the requests of Herpetologists to not harm a snake in any way since they actually protect us from things MUCH worse than snake bites such as epidemics from Rodents. Does the black plague sound familiar. It was primarily spread by rodents.

Video Testing and archiving of such trials will become public shortly. Product begins manufacturing in April 2011. Look forward to it's release from Fox Labs Internationals Fox Labs International

Snakes are there either for warmth or food. Figure out which is drawing them in. If you have rocks they are sunning on then lose the rocks. If you have mice, frogs, whatever, then get rid of them. If you have bugs galore then figure out how to get rid of them. Either way you have to find what is drawing them to your yard. I had these little scorpions getting into the house. They live in the bark that I use for mulch. They didn’t like the poison I sprayed all over the bark. No more scorpions in the house. It may be as simple for you to buy some Home Depot yard insect killer. The bugs go away, the mice/frogs go away, the snakes go away.

Go to your local farm supply store and buy a bag of sulpher granules.

Spread it around your yard where you have been seeing snakes. They will leave the area very quickly. After a season of tossing out the granules, you will not have snakes anymore.

I do this in my yard but not the back portion of the yard that is fenced off for other reasons. This is the area that snakes remain now and I use them for target practice in that area. It would help if there was not a natural drainage ditch running behind the yard and the fence is there to keep larger critters out of the yard such as armadillos, foxes, deer and others. The snakes are kept out by the sulpher granules.
