Being totally blind in my left eye and a cataract growing on the right
since 2009 l fully understand vision problems...Just have been reluctant
chancing the surgery... After reading this thread maybe its time..

...We performed an amateur autopsy on the 4 quarters at the butcher shop. There was a bullet wound in the hump and a wound around the brisket, both about 10" away from the spine, my target. Another shot clipped the diaphragm, went thru the stomach and the bullet was found embedded up against the hide at the hind leg about 8" above the knee.
At this point we have no idea what knocked the bison down...

So first off, what an awesome story! That is a magnificent beast both the gun and the buffalo. I know someone mentioned using the punch rounds and I'm sure you probably already know about it. Your expertise trumps mine, but have you seen the underwood ultimate penetrator rounds? They're solid copper. the end is shaped like a Phillips head screwdriver. Do you think this would have had a better effect?Good question. The hunt area I was in is no-lead.
