Two days ago it was 60 degrees. :) (It's been warm and rainy this winter so far. Nothing at all on the horizon...) Up until yesterday no one said how much we could get but estimated 1-3". This AM that changed to 3-5". All I can say is BRING IT! :D

As the years go by I dislike snow and winter a little more each year. Being retired I don't really have to get out and go too much if I don't want to, so as long as I can still get to the range 15 minutes away I guess I'll survive.

I for one love winter and pray for snow. We are in dire need for snow again this year.

Grooming snowmobile trails is my winter job, last year we never ever fired up the snowcat and so far this year its not looking very promising. :(

He MUST buy 3 gallons of Milk!

Ivan

Ok.......... Now I know, and I also know why I didn't already know!

We have had only 1 snow/ice event in my life time that would qualify as a 3 Gallon Event, and I never heard the term then.

Have a blessed day,

Leon

rags I knew we were neighbors...even before I opened up this thread. I'm headed to Kroger's this very moment to hopefully stock up before the crowds hit. Sometimes I think the grocery industry and the local weather forecasters are in cahoots.

I'll be 60 next month and other than my time in the Army I've always lived in Michigan and have never heard of this, in fact I've never heard of anyone going out and buying food and milk before a storm until reading about it online.

That's funny. Good to know about this avant-garde stuff. Here in Indiana we're sort of primitive, but I do understand this new-age panic buying goes on in our big cities. Out here in the sticks, not so much, but it's catching on. :D

Those of us who live in states where snow/ice means navigating streets that are shared with other "event inexperienced" drivers and whose Highway Department seldom needs nor has excellent snow removal equipment, can relate to the perceived need for preparation.

Folks who routinely have such weather think we're nuts, but then we think 100 degrees is just warming up.

Calling for a covering to 1" in my area,,,,last minor snow.turned into somewhat of a major PIA.
I guess after today the stores will be out of bread, milk and toilet paper?
