So I just got an M&P22 Pistol to compliment my 15-22, what do I need to know before I go out shooting?

First thing is to give it a good cleaning to remove any excess lube. Then put a few drops of oil on the barrel and the two rails.

Then the most important thing: shoot it. I recommend using CCI mini mag ammo to start. I have found it to be highly reliable and clean. Later on you can try some cheaper ammo.

I had trouble adjusting to the blacked out rear sight and ended up putting some bright yellow paint on it.

I also had to adjust the rear sight as the piece was shooting about 5 inches to the left. Once adjusted, it became very accurate with tight groups.

The main thing you need to know is that now your 22LR ammo quantity rquirements just went waaay up. :D

If i shoot it like I shoot my 15-22 I'm gonna have to buy it it's own 550 box an outting.

I got one yesterday, did a light cleaning inside. It was fairly good already, no heavy grease in there. I put about 100 rds through it today, half CCI Mini-mags, half Federal 550 bulk from Walmart. Reliabily was flawless. It shot a little low and left, out of the box; I got the low fixed, but didn't mess with windage...fingers were too cold. So far, so good. Now I need to find a paddle holster.

Still haven't had a chance to take it out to a range =( but was wondering what the consensus on dryfiring a M&P22 was?
