Little recap here. I bought 2 .40 shields early july. Went to the range a week later, one the 7 round mag dropped, the other both mags dropped. 3 people firing it, staff sergeant us army, my brother, competition gun nutt, and me. So, both went back to the store, where after a month I was told, it was T&E and neither had no problems. HMMMMM! Gonna go to the range and see if there is still a problem. Meanwhile, I called s&w customer support, surprise, I got a nice guy! Can you believe it. He will send me a shipping label to mail it to them. I didn't know this, but they have a 3 strikes rule, if it isn't fixed by the 3 rd time I send it in, they will send me a new one. I don't feel the shield is a bad gun, I do need it to go bang when I have to use it. I actually told the guy, Ok, if some guy pulls a gun on my family and I pull my shield and it goes' bang 1 time and the mag drops, and me and my family are killed, what will they do when the law suit is in their lap. That really made him pause and think. Also, he says there are thousands and thousands of .40 shields out there and its just a % of a % that are having problems. I asked him if he has ever read the s&w forums. To which he discounted that not that many are having problems like I am. Sheesh.
