I know we have All read and heard all the nay sayers,"triggers too gritty, too heavy a pull, not accurate, etc......",

Well I took my 12 y/o daughter to the range Mon. for her First time Ever shooting Any kind of weapon, and at 10 yards, Sw40Ve
165 gr. FMJ Winchester, six shots per target, not too shabby!
And now she's hooked!!!

I have the sw40ve i shoot that just as well as i did my glock when i had it. For the money the sigma is a good gun.I no longer have my glock.

Perfect. Now you can ask all the Glock-fanatics why a 12 year old girl can handle a Sigma but they can't.

Welcome to the forum!

Nothin quite like father-daughter range time! You're going to have to buy another one now. I know from experience! :)

Great job!

I agree....great job for the very first try. Gonna need to stock up on some more ammo!

Thanks for the comments, daughter loved them. Stocking up on ammo now.Next gonna get the wife to shoot. And I guess the glock heads that bash the Sigma just aren't as tough as a 12 y'o girl!

Great job! Just a thought - why don't you put a Hogue Hand-all on the Sigma for your daughter? I think she may be able to get a better grip on it (no pun intended) which may improve her control.

Best of luck,

Dave

I've got both and put about 150 rounds through each this afternoon. I think you can be just as accurate with a Sigma as you can a Glock.

That said -- and maybe it's just me! -- I have to work harder using my Sigma than the G19 to get the same accuracy.

I think shooting the Sigma has made me a better shooter. It's forced me to improve my mechanics and concentration, really, especially with regard to my trigger work.

I love 'em both like salt and pepper! :D

And to the OP: you should be darn proud of that girl! I hope mine will do as well when her day comes!

nycems22 - That's what happens - take em to the range and ya have to buy em a gun. Happened to me and my son! Glad you had a great time.

Leejack that's great! "Sigma - The Timex watch of guns", Too freakin' cool.
I love my Sigma almost as much as my 469!

Never had a Glock and never wanted one. My 9VE has been flawless. My son is a Lt. on a small town police force, and runs the police range used by several small forces. I had a shoot-out with him - my SW9VE and Sig P228 vs his G19 and G22. I blew him away. However, when we swapped guns, he almost beat me with my own pistols. Glocks just don't point well for me.

Remember, you can fix the trigger on a Sigma [I did], but you cannot change the grip angle on a Glock.

That's awesome! My daughter is only 5 (her day will come), my son however is 17. When were at the range it's hard to get him to put my AR 15 down, but he really enjoys my sigma 40. Before my sigma I had a 44 snubbie and he didn't care much for it. My wife, son, and me all LOVE the sigma. It's a great pistol....for any of you who haven't tried it, when your about to leave the range, put a fresh "human profile" target up and compete to see who can put the best smiley face on it. 10 shots, 7 for the mouth, and 3 for the eyes and nose. Makes for great fun, and bragging rights until the next range session....last time my 110 lb wife won. Lol
