Advertised by some wholesalers. Like the fancy Model 60. Kind of expensive - $980.

I got a 432 for $335 a few years ago.

Why go for this?

Hi Glenn,

The 432PD is a nice light little gun that's excellent for personal defense. The 632 was intended more as a camp/kit gun. They didn't make very many and they were quickly snapped up when discontinued.

The steel frame makes sense for the .327 to dampen the recoil (which I've heard is similar to a .38 +P). In addition, the .327 operates in the 40,000 psi range - hotter than .357 or .44 Magnums and provides the muzzle energy of a .40 S&W.

I suspect retail pricing might start off around $800-$825, which is still quite high. If they don't sell at that price, I'd watch for price drops or make the seller an offer.

I saw that CDNN had 431s with a laser grip in their catalog. Don't know the price.

A SS gun if the price goes down to the $400's might be fun. Look for a closeout in a year or two.

I wonder if a curent S&W steel 32 mag could be rechambered to 327...........

Thought someone posted recently on another thread that they had called S&W and were told that Smith had no plans for producing any revolver in .327mag?

$510... Not bad for a laser grip equipped 6-shot J-Frame.

I've got a 432 that I'm very fond of...it's my EDC. I recently bought an older model 642 in .38 Special. I shot it last week with 158gr. standard velocity SWC rounds. That's the first time I ever got my thumb bitten by the cylinder release. Unfortunately, I have arthritis in both hands which means stiff fingers and a poor grip. I need to try it with 148gr. wadcutters and see if I can maintain my grip on it. It makes me really appreciate that 432.

Regards,

Dave

That's a nice looking gun but the price is a tad steep for me right now.

A stainless unblackened version that came in lower might work.

One can hope it isn't popular and then you can pick it up cheap. That's how I scored the 432 for $335.
