When a friend of mine went to Bass Pro yesterday I asked him to pick me up any .44 caliber ammo they had. He came back with two 20 round boxes of Hornady .44 Magnum 225 grain FTX. Looks different than the usual Hornady ammo. Any info greatly appreciated.

I believe the FTX is the "Flex Tip" ammo designed such that nominally spitzer-shaped bullets can be used in tubular magazines. Should work fine in handguns, also.

i have used a lot of the hornady FTX and like it in my 357 Mag 4'620 and it makes a big deference in my 30-30 winchester 94 wrangler i is very very accurate!!
I also think it is a little hotter then other 357 mag and 30-30 ammo i ever tried ( rem win fed)
and it opens up ( it is just a hp whet a polyurethane point on it ) like they say . I like that ammo and it looks cool to . michael
