So......Who loves BIG BORE Snubbies?

I almost could not pass a pic of these awesome snubs without punching the " Like " button. They are all fantastic, however, the blued guns are very special indeed.
Ahhhhh what dreams are made of. I want one to replace my 19 snub as my EDC.... really.
My hat is off to all the owners of these fine weapons.

The ultra fine snubbies in this thread are never seen for sale in my area. You folks that are snatching these up are lucky! Truthfully, there are not many used older Smith's of any flavor to be found around here.

This thread inspired me to buy my first Lew Horton 24-3 back in 2014 when it was first started. glad to see it revised. I've been on the hunt for a 696 lately

My only big bore snub :(

There was an Ruger Alaskan that sat at the LGS for a long time. $600, I'm kicking myself I didn't jump on it. :(

In a previous post, I stated I had two snubs that begin with a "4", but I only posted photos of my Colt NS.

That was a while back, and now, since this thread is still around, I'll show off my other one.

This actually gets carried quite a bit, in a Simply Rugged Sourdough Pancake. A friend of mine, who chops everything from guns to cars, had a gunsmith who specializes in target rifles trim this to 2.75". Then, he grew bored with it, and for a Ruger SP101 (that I was only into for $300!) and a hundred bucks it became mine. Definitely one of my better trades.

I like it because it's impervious to any weather I carry it in, it'll handle any load I decide to put through it, and it's big enough to handle anything I might encounter. The group photo is him with his fellow .44's, a 629-4 and a Contender.

Some of mine

Since I have no "big bore" snubbies (defined as bigger than .357") , I'll just share the snubbies I do have and carry. I used to have a variety of them to include Model 29 and 629 versions in 3", I never found them practical to carry. I use Remington 125 grain Golden Sabers in the L Comp, and carry it in a Sparks PMK. In the Model 27-2 I use American Eagle 158 grain JSP.

Model 27-2, 3.5", Spegel grips in Thad Rybka holster

Model 586+ L-Comp with Spegel grips. My favorite carry gun.

I guess I've taken a bit of a liking to them.
I've added 3 in the last year - but none of them are Smiths.
Astra Terminator 2-3/4" in 44 magnum
Ross 44102 - 2-1/2" in 44 magnum
Charter Arms Bulldog - 3" in 44 special

Very enviable collection that you have there Dan. I would love to find one of the 657-3 versions for myself.
