So, you wish you had tickets for the Superbowl?

You could have paid $3000+ for a ticket, driven/flown 1000+ miles, paid the price of a Registered Magnum for a hotel room...and awakened to this sight this morning.

It was about 4-5" then, but still snowing so probably close to 6" now. But a worse problem is there is about a half inch of ice under the snow. Driving/walking is very dangerous.

I'm about +/- 20 miles as the crow flies from Cowboy Stadium.

This sight greeted me out of my upstairs bathroom window this morning when I got up.

A man had 50 yard line tickets for the Super Bowl. As he sits down, a man comes down and asks if anyone is sitting in the seat next to him.

“No,” he says, “The seat is empty.”

“This is incredible,” said the man. “Who in their right mind would have a seat like this for the Super Bowl, the biggest sporting event in the world, and not use it?”

He says, “Well, actually, the seat belongs to me. I was supposed to come with my wife, but she passed away. This is the first Super bowl we haven’t been to together since we got married in 1967.”

“Oh, I’m sorry to hear that. That’s terrible. But couldn’t you find someone else-a friend or relative, or even a neighbor to take the seat?”.

The man shakes his head... “No, they’re all at the funeral.”

I love it. although I prefer the Texas/Oklahoma version. thanks for sharing.

bettis, it looks nice up there. i envy you. before i left work yesterday we were trading snow ice cream recipes. but all we got down here(houston) for cracked fingers is a light dusting. oh well, at least the roads are safe for a dairy queen run. enjoy it while it lasts.

I saw on the news the other day that small businesses around Cowboy Stadium were renting their parking spots for $1000! And people were actually buying them!

We live about 30 miles SE of Mesquite, which is part of the metroplex east of Dallas. We got about 7 inches of snow last night. However, even if it was 75 degrees, clear, sunny, and with a nice cool breeze blowing, I wouldn't want to fight the traffic, the crowds, and pay the insane prices. I'd much rather stay at home, enjoy the game in front of my big screen TV, in my underwear. :p

Yep, I'm with you Ken. 'Cept mine is a small screen TV and I'll be buck neckid and watchin' it between my toes.

Bob (sorry for that visual)

A co-worker told me they were selling $200 tickets-that could only be bought in blocks of 4-that allowed one to be outside the stadium watching the game on a big screen TV.

I'd rather be watching the game at home.
For the price of the tickets alone, I can eat and drink pretty well and then maybe pick up a nice new addition to my collection - along with a bunch of ammo.

I think we're going to rent a movie. I MAY check the evening news to see who won.

No way would I want to go, mostly because I hate crowds. I just bought about $100 worth of crab legs and I'll have them and shrimp and calamari during the game. It's my big celebration of the year.
By the way, you heard it here first......Packers 17-Steelers 27.

Oh, one more thing, Jerry should leave the roof open. It's the Packers and Steelers for Pete's sake, this is balmy weather for them.

I've got 10 Casino's here in town and they always got lots of large TV'S around to watch the game. Dollar beers from the lady's walking around the floor.

2014 SB is being played in NJ in an open air stadium. Good luck with that. Right now there's 2-3 feet in the NY-NJ-CT metro area.

Btw, don't care who wins as long as GB has 2 and the Steelers 1

Steeler fan since age 8. Turned TV on and watched two teams playing in the snow. Without reason I picked "that team": our Pittsburgh Steelers.

Through thick and thin I've never left them for another bandwagon.

Thankfully I didn't pick the other team to be a lifelong fan of: Cleveland Browns!!!

I think they should open the roof too. it's bad enough they have to play on carpet. only thing is that fake stuff can get as hard as cement once it freezes. yikes! the city wouldn't be so concerned about maintenance costs if they were the ones on the field.

There is actually another reason to watch. Even if you don't care about football, don't care which team wins, etc., that stadium really does rank up in the modern wonders of the world. You owe it to yourselves to see as much of it as you can.

Bob

$3000 for a ticket is about right, except the money needs to flow in the opposite direction to get me to go.

$1,000s to park? Hell I would go to the next town and charter a heliocopter to drop me off, come back and pick me up and have hundreds of dollars left over!

The rifle range at the Rod & Gun Club should be pretty empty during game time. I guess I'll go out and practice some offhand shooting; ...I sure do need the practice.
