BOTH SOLD
I hate selling guns. Any of my guns, ever. I love my babies, but sometimes life demands hard choices. I'm back into Cowboy Action Shooting in a big way, and need (read: want really badly) some new clothes and new leather and maybe even another rifle.
So, some precious things need to go on the market.
#1:
Smith and Wesson 624
3" barrel
.44 Special caliber
Brushed stainless finish
Red-ramp front sight
Combat wood grips
Original box and wax-paper wrap
This is one of a special Lew Horton run done back in 1985. I've had it since 1990, and it still looks as nice as the day I bought it. Not pristine, certainly, but not a beater by any means.
The production figure of 5000 is often bandied about for these, but deeper research leads me to believe that # was for ALL the Horton 624 barrel lengths; I think significantly fewer were produced in this variation. This one has the red circled "C" on the box, and the tester's stamp on the face of the cylinder, showing it has been back to S&W and is NOT one of the ones that had a cylinder made from sub-par steel. These things, on occasion, bring ridiculous amounts of money in auctions, but I'm not looking to break someone's bank account to pass it along. I believe $975 is a reasonable and fair price.
#2:
Smith and Wesson Model 25-7
5" barrel
.45 Colt caliber
Matte blue-grey finish, with unfluted cylinder
Marked ".45 CAL. MODEL OF 1989"
Original box and wax-paper wrap
There were about 2000 of these made, and the box shows the correct product code of "100924." I bought mine new in early 1990, and used to win a LOT of lunch money from fellow deputies with it. Although I liked it better with Pachmayr "Gripper" grips, I've put the orignal Hogue's back on it for this sale. Again, not pristine, but only a few tiny blemishes overall. $800
First firm "I'll take it", followed by PM contact to finalize details, gets the goods.
All sales are made with the presumption that the buyer may legally possess these guns in his or her state.
PayPal is OK, but NOT Personal; I'll eat the fees AND shipping costs. Postal money orders are equally acceptable. NOT for sale outside the U.S.; sorry, just too much hassle
Buyer has three days in which to inspect and fire them upon arrival, but do NOT disassemble if you have any intention of returning them for a refund. Deal's not done until both sides are happy; that's the USN way.
Thanks for looking!
