Looking for information on the Grip Adapter that S&W sold years ago. Similar to Tyler and Ace products. Found it in a box of old revolver parts.

Mine is NIB, marked "MED", made of a nylon-like material with metal spring clips. S&W logo, ribbed.

Is it common, collectable? Any info appreciated.

SPF to Long Colt Frazier

Hi Ken - they are found at gunshows from time to time and were made at similar time to Mershon and Pachmayr grip adapters.
I've seen them in the $20-$30 range. S&W collectors like them in the condition you have with box for displays

They were made in various sizes depending on the revolver being used. IIRC I have one in small, medium, large and one marked "J" frame. As stated, in the original box you will see them anywhere from $5 to $25. They can be found quite cheap mixed in a box of "stuff" at a small local gun show or you can spend larger dollars on an auction site like fleabay.:D

Thanks for the prompt replies. Makes sense.

Don't use adapters on my M60, M14, M16 and 686. Have some nice combat grips for them, though.

Since I'm not a S&W "collector", I'll plan to put the adapter and box into the For Sale section later on and let it go ... unless anyone here wants it for $18.00 delivered.

I'll take it . PM me with your address.
Thanks, Mark

My Police Model 10-5 heavy 4-inch barrel had the S&W grip adapters on it when it was issued back in 1968.
