Hit the gun show in Lodi (CA) today. Lately it has been a poor shadow, but I was looking for a particular rifle from a particular vendor who I thought MIGHT be there. He wasn't.

However, I did score 100 pieces of brand new 45-70 for $100 and 100 pieces of brand new R-P 32-20 for $60. Not wonderful perhaps, but worth the 20 minute drive.

I even looked REALLY HARD at a post-war 6" Mauser Luger in .30 cal with grip safety. Asking $1800 but would dicker. I passed, but felt bad about it. This thing appeared to be unfired and came with box and papers. I don't own any safe queens and I would have felt bad about shooting it. Had it been somewhat cheaper and not as clean, maybe. (Is that weird?)

A fellow locally had 32-20 Starline brass for 50 cents each. I got a 100. I even bought a new set of RCBS cowboy dies in 32-20 50 bucks also. Look really nice. We'll see how they work out. The others I have are Redding.Brass has gotten expensive but I recently found 32 H&R on sale at Cabela's for 27 cents...bought 200

Are the RCBS Cowboy dies carbide or just steel? I've seen them advertised as "steel" dies which led me to think no carbide sizing ring.

I don't know about all cowboy dies but 32-20 are NOT carbide. The case isn't a true straight walled case like a 357 mag case.

In looking at the suggested retail for Cowboy dies, I assume they are only High Speed Steel.
