Last year when my dad passed and we cleared the place out, I came across these boxes of .264 Mag ammo. I remember this stuff from the 70's when a small gun shop owner in my hometown was convicted of selling guns into Mexico (before the BATF and Justice Dept. decided to get into the game
) and because my dad was the local Chief of Police, he was selected to make the actual arrest after a long Federal investigation. Knowing he was going to prison for a few years, this gent had sold his good items and having known my father since childhood gave him boxes of old surplus ammo and broken guns, which is where this ammo came from.
In the late 70's I sold most of the ammo and thought this had gone too, but was pleasantly surprised to find it. The question is, what's it worth today? I don't have a rifle in this caliber nor do any friends or family. I suspect each 20 round box is worth more today than the handwritten price of $7.05 per box that each are marked with!
Seriously though, what would be a good expected price to ask for these? I know a new box of this caliber ammo goes north of $40.00 per box, but does the age of this stockpile add to the price?
