I found this 534 Lawrence holster on a table at a local gun show a while back and the old guy selling it was sure it was for a single action like a Colt SAA. Well I really liked the looks of it but since I do not own such a gun I left it there.
Kept thinking about it and finally went back and bought it just to have. Tried to get him to come down a little but he said no one does leatherwork like this anymore so I paid his price.
I looked up a Lawrence holster chart and to my surprise a 534 fits a S&W 6.5" 44 Magnum or a 45 Caliber Model of 1955. I don't own an early 44 Magnum with that barrel length but do own a Model of 1955 with some issues but still a nice old S&W. It lost some bluing along the way but it is one of the guns with the W shaped main spring.
Take a look.
Let's see your lucky holster find.

Nice holster! Laced and engraved to boot! It goes well with the
Model 1955.

Speaking of the Model 1955, did you do a thread on it?

Known as the Keith, Elmer's only contribution to it vs the Threepersons was the ultra long strap that he touted as for tucking behind the belt when not in use. A true Threepersons has no strap at all.

Nice holster! I recently bought an El Paso Saddlery with the floral design and black background. Along with a couple other holsters, but for my Coonan. They will work well for other 1911s.

The F in the code on the back is "Floral" and the L is for "laced". I am not sure about the other two letters. Does it have the sight protector at the top? Beautifully aged Lawrence. The carving and color look super.
