Just called my local LGS and talked to my buddy and have a Shield 9mm waiting on me :). I've wanted one since laying eyes on them and couldnt ever find one. Ended up getting my MP40C and love it too, but still wanted the Shield pretty bad. I am super stoked

I am sitting on the fence (and saving money) whether to buy a 40c or 40 shield....I am going with the 40 cause I can buy a 9 barrel and mags and have the best of both worlds...enjoy your new shield

Congratulations, I waited about a year before I found one. You will love it. Great CCW gun.

Bought my 9mm last wknd. I researched single stack 9's for sometime. The Shield made it a no brainer. Took it out Monday to the range. It's everything I thought it would be. Sweet shooting lil gun.

Bought a S&W Shield .40 from PSA. Picked it up yesterday and took it to the range today. I put about 50 rounds (reloads) down the pipe. Gun functioned fine and the felt recoil didn't seem any more pronounced than with my G27. Trigger was smooth but I need to practice more with it as I was pushing some rounds to the left.
Then I decided to give my other often carried gun some practice. Keltec .380. Felt recoil with it was more in line with my S&W 640 in .357 magnum.

First impression of the Shield is I am very pleased. Not bad at all for $390 all in. I might retire the Keltec. I REALLY don't like shooting that gun.

So I'm looking to pick up my Shield on Monday. It will be only my second ever handgun purchase. Previous was a Glock. What should I look for or at in regards to quality checks on the piece? Obviously I'd check for the recall issue. But what else?
