This is blazer brass. I know its cheap stuff, but its $11 for 50 rounds. The brass is really sooty, every shell. The federal hollowpoints ive put through it dont soot at all.

Is my chamber out of round or is the 115 grain blazer brass a bit weak causing less shell expansion?

Wondering if i need to call smith?

I'd try some different brands of ammo, several brands of really good & some cheaper stuff & see what happens, if it keeps up then you may have a prob.

Looks like a low pressure round that didn't expand far enough or fast enough to make a good seal. Did any gas blow by into your face? If not, I wouldn't worry about it. My low powered reloads do this all the time.

I will try some better stuff. I have shot some really cheap stuff through my m&p .40 fs without this issue including blazer brass. The federal 124 grains i carry are fine.
