The first Glock I ever bought was a G27 about 10-11 years ago.
It's been alright as to accuracy and great for reliability.
I recently bought an Xmag extender for the G23, 13 shot mag and with that it's like a round butt Glock23 snubby.
It rides pretty nice in a Galco summer comfort or any of the hundreds of Glock holsters out there.
It's still plastic and ugly but I like what it can do and I won't cry rivers if it's held for a while, nor will it get beat up that I'll be able to notice.
It will never replace my steel wheel guns but it has its place.

How DARE you!!!

j/k :D

Glocks are good guns. My EDC is a Beretta PX4 Compact, which is kinda like a DA/SA Glock 19 frame/Glock 26 slide and barrel.

My choice is for Hand Ejectors from classic times.

My second choice is for Ruger Single actions of all sizes and calibers.

Two years go I went into the local Gander Mountain and a 19X caught my eye. I had always thought I should "try" a Glock. I had it on my permit and out to the range in about 3 hours.

I also have several other nines and each one requires a different bullet type and loading to be semi-reliable. Only my 39-2 will accept any loading.

Over the time period I have run every one of my reloads thru the Glock. I have been trying hard to break it or make it malfunction. No such luck.

After about 1500 rounds it has been 100%. Besides that, the accuracy for a military style pistol is very good.

I'm not complaining, per se'. I'd rather shoot my S&Ws, but the Glock surely is a gem.

My G27 along with my G30 are the 2 most reliable hand guns I own. As to the 27, can't be beat imo. It's not as pretty as my 1911's but it sure packs a lot easier. Also I don't know what Glock uses on their finish but I've had mine for many years & nary a blemish or wear mark anyplace on the slide.

I actually just bought a brand spankin' new Glock 17 Gen 5 today.

There was a time when I was disdainful towards just about any polymer framed pistols, but especially Glocks. They were ugly, had a weird grip angle that I didn't like, and their frame was made of plastic.
However, my opinion of polymer framed pistols changed once I got a Ruger LCP because I needed something ultra lightweight and extremely concealable for Summer Carry. From there I bought a like new S&W Sigma SW40VE (a Glock 23 clone) which I found at my LGS for a mere $199, and that gun changed my opinion of Glocks.
Today I was at my LGS to pick up a Tokarev TTC I ordered online and when I saw a brand new Glock 17 Gen 5 in the case for $539, I decided to buy it because my brother has always been into them and I wanted to see how it compared to my Sigma. Based on first impressions, the grip angle isn't as nice as the Sigma, but it's nowhere near as bad as I expected based on what folks say. In fact, it felt pretty good in my hand with the default backstrap, I have to say. That being said, the fit, finish, and trigger are all much nicer than the Sigma, but that's no big surprise given that the SW40VE is a budget-priced pistol which even brand new ran a good $200 south of the Glock.

It ain't pretty by conventional aesthetic standards, but there is a sort of charm in its simplistic appearance that I can't really explain, so I feel that calling it "ugly" is a gross overstatement. Truthfully, its appearance is so simplistic that it ought to be considered objectively innocuous. To me, ugly is something like the H&K VP9, or better yet, a Hi-Point C9. Glocks are just plain, not ugly. Heck, it's downright beautiful compared to certain historical firearms which as so hideous, so abhorrent, so aesthetically terrible that I strongly recommend that you pour yourself a stiff drink like Whiskey or at least a strong non-alcoholic beverage like Dr. Pepper before you Google Image them.
Ready? If you think that Glocks are ugly, then look up the LeMat Cartridge Revolver, (not to be confused with the standard cap & ball LeMat Revolver) the Dardick Pistol, and the MBA Gyrojet Pistol. Still think Glocks are ugly?

You forgot Highpoint, Bryco, and Jennings. ;)

I've never tried them, but you might want to check out the Grip Force Adapter (if you haven't already heard of them). It's a backstrap/beavertail you can install on Glocks that changes the grip angle, supposedly making it closer to that of a 1911. But like I said, I've never tried them so I can't comment on that from direct experience. Reviews I've read have said that it does help pointability for some shooters.

I've tried the pseudo beavertail grip adapter, all it did was focus the recoil pulse right into the web of my hand between my thumb & index finger. I am back to the original configuration. All I ever do to my Glocks is night sights, grip tape & that's it. People mess up Glocks all the time with aftermarket springs, triggers etc. The grip adapter might work for some though, just not in my experience.

Another thing I forgot to mention is that the Glock 17 Gen 5 that I purchased is a FXD model with front slide serrations. Beyond that I don't know what (if anything) sets it apart from an ordinary G17 Gen 5, nor what "FXD" stands for.
I tried looking it up, but came up with nada. Not even Glock's website listed the model, which makes me wonder if it was some kind of limited run or something. Anyone know?

Actually, the Hi-Point C9 was one example of an ugly pistol that I gave.

Bryco/Jennings don't look ugly to me, they're mainly styled after otherwise attractive pocket pistols like the Colt 1908 Vest Pocket Pistol, FN Baby Browning, and the Walther TPH. It's their poor build quality and sketchy reliability that makes them bad.

Never apologise for owning a Glock.

After the success of the Glock 19x and G 45, I've previously said Glock should make essentially what u have done. Make a Glock 26x (or 27x); a Glock 26 slide and barrel on a Glock 19 frame.

I don't care for autos very much. Give me a nice S&W or Ruger any day. That said, I have a Glock 27 that I like a lot. Amazing reliability, the finish seems bomb proof and given the size of the gun, very easy to shoot well. I have enough magazines, spare parts and ammo to keep this gun running for a while.

Slim Fit

A while back I seen the New Glock Slimline Model 43X 9mm
Single Stack 4"Bbl at our Local Indoor Range.

Thought it was nice fitting and interesting, so I rented it. This
was the only Glock I have shot.

After 50 rounds; I liked it, probably the only Glock I'd buy,
(helps it was reasonably priced) and I would recommend.

I don't get the infatuation with plastic. Plastic fantastic's will never be classics.... not trying to start a war here just sayin. NO popcorn necessary.

bought my first Glock when the only Glock was the 17. It shot fine but I could not shoot well with it. It did not fit my hand A few years later I picked up a Glock 23 and still had problems shooting it because of grip size. After about five years I thought I would try the 43. That was the one that did it for me. Perfect fit and I could shoot it great. Added a plus two Mag extension and it is the only gun I carry anymore. Been giving some thought to a Glock 48 these days to carry owb and use the 43 as a bug.

I carried a G23 for the last 10 years of my career and while they're combat accurate & reliable just never really cared for it. Recently I p/u the M&P Compact 2.0 in 9MM and now realize why I never cared for the Glock. The Smith is just as reliable and accurate but a lot better fit w/the different back straps and you get a better value for your money.

No need to be sorry, Glock makes a great gun.

NY first handgun I bought was a G27 w/ night sights. I'd just turned 20. It was accurate, but I eventually sold it for a 26. I've owned dozens over the years.

I have a couple Glocks (26/29), they both have their place in my carry rotation, particularly the 26. I appreciate the their utility and ability to use 10-33 round mags in my AR pistol.
