Police are also searching for a would be robber with a bullet in his chest up around Huntsville Al. An 83 YO man shot him when he broke in the door and forced his way in the mans house late at night. The perp dove out the window and ran.

In both cases authorities are saying the shootings were justified.

The Smith and Wesson revolver the homeowner used is capable of holding five rounds of ammunition." 5-shot 32 should make it "pre-Hand Ejector", right? That would also make it "pre-32 SWL" So she hit him with three of five 32 S&W, and they did what they were designed to - killed the lowlife. Way to go Grandma. And I did like that comment - "We need to pitch in and buy her another box of bullets". :D


Maybe even a slightly newer gun? :p

I live in the country and once had a guy come to the door holding a jumbo pack of paper towels late at night. He was talking about some good deal on household items and cut him off and told him not interested and shut the door. I had a S&W Model 15 snub in back pocket and noticed a rusty van in the drive running and other people inside it. I believe his plan was to give me the bum's rush with the towels and his friends to follow.
I could be wrong but he was a scruffy looking character and you can't be too careful. Next time I won't even open the door after dark.

Another box of bullets certainly, but I would be reluctant to replace a gun so proven--it hits where she needs it to and does its job. :)

The shame is that the Liberal media will never promote a story such as this, a clear instance when a lawful gun owner's life was saved by a firearm. For those of us who are rational individuals, it's quite obvious that the knife wielding perp would have wrecked havoc if he had the chance to. Thankfully, he bit off more than he could chew, and an innocent person was spared a horrific fate. It is also a reminder than violent crime can occur anywhere ... even in the most tranquil rural communities. Be smart, be prepared, expect the unexpected.

There was a deputy sitting in front of our room. What got me was family and friends visited him and there wasn't a word of admonishment from them. He was glad to see me leave.

A young lady with a child was attacked in her yard last weekend at her home about a mile from me. She had been shopping at Walmart in MaConGA and had apparently cashed a pretty good sized check. They are thinking she was followed home from that store. Same thing happened in a country community about 35 miles north of here earlier this year or late last year. An older couple actually suffered gunshot wounds after being followed home from Macon, where they had been shopping.

I am very observant when returning to our country home, especially after dark. I have my daughter pretty well trained, and am working on my wife. I have a gun in my pocket whenever I am dressed, and one handy when not dressed, which is only when gone to bed.

My daughter lives by herself in a country town, with a good many unsavory characters always visible. If any are within say 50 yards of her door, she just continues driving, and lets them get on down the sidewalk. She is armed, and pretty aware of surroundings now.

I had a friend who`s mother was describing some event of some guy that had burglarized her or something similar. Anyway she said she was gonna shoot him but didn't because he was sick. Cracked me up!

I stopped answering my door, except for people who call me first, years ago. The only people who show up are sales people, illiterate, who can't read the 'no soliciting' sign, people soliciting donations for starving oil companies, and political neer-do-wells who want to convince me to vote for some drunken, corrupt politician.

I don't need to talk to those idiots.
