I`ve recently acquired a couple of very nice 3rd gens, a 4506 and a 4516. Both are in their original boxes which are marked with a special order code. I`m wondering if anyone can tell me what the codes mean? I`m curious as to what special features they may have or if they stand out from the crowd in some way. Only have pix of the boxes at the moment but will post pix of the pistols themselves a bit later, as everyone loves to see what everyone else has!

If you are referring to the number below the "SPEC ORD", that is the date of manufacture. The first digit specifies the year withing the decade (7 could be 1997, 2007, etc.) and the next three digits specify the day of the year. I believe that your guns were made on the 178th day of 1997 and the 362nd day of 1996.
