spent case date

Don't know if this is in the right place or not. But, here goes. Any idea of the time frame of date of mfg to the date on test case envelope. My 22a UDL78XX case date 3/28/2013. Bought NIB about a month ago. Thanks and Merry Christmas..

AFAIK they shoot them and send them out. I bought a Shield late last year that was shot about 2 weeks before I bought it.

Thanks much. I like to be as close as possible in my info when I catalog my shooting irons. I do a photo of it and one showing the serial number. Then it goes in the binder in the safe with all the paperwork and spent casing. When and if I ever sell one I keep all that info as well. Thanks again and HO HO HO

You bet. I do the same with cataloging and use that fired-case date as the origin date for my Shield. It's one of only 4 specific dates I have in my entire collection.... all the others are either from the "serial numbers by years" section in SCSW or the year I bought new models. (My 3 ATI .45s came with a dated certificate.)
