1. **SPF**: "Second Issue" Colt Detective Special with the hard to find 3" barrel. SN is B274XX which dates this one to 1971 per Proofhouse. Original nickle finish remains lustrous with no wear of the muzzle, barrel, leading edges of the frame or cylinder, or the back strap. There are small areas of wear of the cylinder itself on two flutes, as well as scattered tiny "fly speck" spots of the cylinder.
The blast plate and forcing cone give testimony that this gun appears to have been shot very little.
Original 3" barrel is scarce and very
hard to find and is flawless. In spite of the mild cosmetic flaws, still in all a very nice vintage Colt snubbie.
The pics tell the story; the third pic shows the small flaws of two of the cylinders. I would grade the finish overall in the 92-3% range.
Stocks are in excellent plus condition. Action and timing are excellent; tight cylinder lock down; no end shake.

(SPF) $485 (reduced to $460 on 5/10) shipped from my FFL to your FFL, a cost to me of about $30.
2. Here's a very high collector-grade Colt Officer's Model Target 38 spl.("Third Issue"), complete with box and a dated 1947 user's manual.
Pics speak for themselves. They don't come much nicer than this one!
SN is 7505XX dating it to 1947 per Proofhouse. Last patent date on top of barrel is 1926.
Original Colt blue finish I would grade at least 98%. Box in good condition for a 60+ year old. Includes a vintage stock extender.
Price drop ***SPF*** to $890 shipped insured Priority Mail from my FFL to your FFL or C&R ( a cost to me of about 40 bucks).
For what it's worth, current Blue Book at 98% is $1100 without box.
