spring kit recomendations

I don't waste money on aftermarket springs. I have done so, but eventually removed them. I cut two coils off the original mainspring, that is enough to lighten the action, yet strong enough to work well in an otherwise smooth action. I also slightly bend the mainspring with a "doorstop" wood piece, to balance the action. (I think this requires some experience on how the action should feel) This has worked well for me on all my guns I have worked on. Defense guns generally get left alone. They are 100% reliable. I think that the action can be too light. I try to get a smooth firm action, not too heavy, not too light. Smooth is much more important than light. After market trigger rebound springs I have bought have been longer and harder to install than the standard Smith spring.

Just my thoughts on the matter.
