Does anyone have any experience with either the 3" or the 4" version? It looks like a good buy to me, but I have yet to see one in person. Thank you!

I just got a 3", hope to make it to the range today!

Just to satisfy my curiosity on this, can you take a look at the ejector to see if it's pinned or glued?

Been getting conflicting second hand information on this.

I haven't a clue.

Range report: First off, I'm a life long revolver shooter trying to find a 9mm that I can shoot reasonably well and striker fired guns are not it.
I think this smallish 1911 type will be my answer. I only shot 40 rounds today, impressed with the fit & finish, feels just right in my hand. Good trigger and reset, first magazine, shots were all over the place(normal for me, I try too hard!) Last magazine I shot rapid fire, was the best group!

When you take the slide off to clean the thing, take a look at the rail on the frame. Just behind where the front of the ejector is on top, in the valley of the rail on the frame, you'll see a round hole filled by the pin in there that goes to the other side or you won't.

Sorry, I'm no help, I have free lifetime cleanings from a former range officer, I traded a fancy custom auto knife for never having flying parts.

EMP

I have had two, first the 4 inch bi-tone model and now another 4 inch in the FDE color. I have found them to be extremely accurate, reliable and very comforable to shoot with either regular or plus p. I like trying different types of ammo and it feeds, extracts and ejects everything I feed it. However, I will say that I only use new manufactured ammo so can not speak to how it would be with reloads, as I do not do those. Holsters do not seem to be a problem, as I have purchased several in both kydex and leather. I have purchased only those specifically molded for the EMP but I am told that 1911 Commander size holsters work fine, I would just be sure to get holsters that have been molded for ambitious safeties as not all 1911s have ambi safety controls.

Springfield Armory customer service is super, very quick and easy to get a live person on the phone. I lost the extra fiber optic tubes and they sent me out replacements right away.

The workmanship inside and out is first rate and the FDE finish appears to be very durable, many in / outs of both kydex and leather and I do not see any wear yet.

The original EMPs I purchased shipped with 3 mags which I thought was a nice touch.

I do not have a Ronin EMP, however, I do have 2 EMP 3s and 2 EMP 4s. Had ejector loosen on several, not pinned. Worked with SA and they pinned the ejectors at no cost. All four pistols are accurate and reliable.

Reference magazines for EMP, there is a gentleman on 1911 forum, Logman, who modifies magazines for EMP to make them fit flush. Does excellent work.
