Had been looking at a possible M&P in 45acp: the Springfield XTM Elite 45acp Compact OSP @ $359(!) and is my 1st ever Springfield product.
I am not disappointed in the least. IMHO these are an unbelievable value for a compact, optics-ready pistol, in any caliber (if their 10mm had been at this price I would have bought a pair!).
Accurate, really great trigger out-of-the-box, great sights, 3.8" match barrel, removable mag well, includes one optics mounting plate: what's not to like? I guess surpressor height sights would have been nice, but... You can't really expect everything all the time, can you?

P.S. The grip safety is, to me, even less obtrusive than on a 1911.
