I'm using one in my M&P15T and it performs flawlessly. I can't say if it alone will have any affect on a M&P15's ability to cycle low pressure ammo (Wolf and the like) as I've used precious little of this type of ammo. I also have a M16 bolt carrier installed further increasing reciprocating weight. I have yet to experience a single malfunction of any kind with more than 3,500 rounds downrange. I installed the ST-T2 buffer after the first 1,000 rounds and the F/A bolt carrier after 2,000 or so rounds.

I did buy the ST-T2. I think my M&P15 feels smoother. But that could be just a perception. The majority of my ammo is steel case russian ammo. I have shot Barnaul, MFS, Tula as well as PMC bronze. All of it has functioned perfectly with the ST-T2. No short stroking or anything. I'm totally happy with it.

I bought the ST-T2 buffer, and I do feel it smoothed the recoil impulse a bit.

It also took away the "spring noise" in the buffer tube I would hear with each shot. My gun worked well before I replaced the buffer - it works well after I replaced it. I like the changes it made.

I put the Spikes ST-T2 buffer in my M&P 15T and the weight noise is gone. It seemed to cycle better when rapid firing. But it runs like a champ.

I use Wolf and Tula ammo fairly often and it eats it up.
