I guess I am wierd---well, I know I am weird---but these handels of our set my mind to wondering what is behind the choice.
There is one guy here that I know uses an actual name---ME---but I am weird---UH, I said that before didn't I.
Anywho, most I can figger out. Caj is of course, from Louisianna.
I have spent a lot of time over the years---mostly drinking coffee---Mostly, I digress; trying to figger out how you boys come up with 'em.
Nothing super sleuthy about this conversation but, I guess I am just bored.

I'm not very imaginative, just used my initials :)
 
People probably assume the d and b in my handle stand for something but they're actually just supposed to look like the view of side-by-side barrels from the muzzle end.

Edit: now that I think about it, I suppose they could stand for double barrels. :)

I don't want people to know that I am partial to RB K frames and SB J frames, especially in aluminum.
 
Well what about K. W. Selke. You have to read between the dots. I figured anyone that really wanted to find out who I was would do it, so I never tried a stage name like Marion Robert Morrison. Anyone here is welcome to call me Ken.

Did you consider just going with OO? :)
 
Mine was a password that I used to use when in the USAF. When it would expire I would use the password FOXTOE, and rotate back and forth between the two.
 
I signed up to the S&W forum right after returning home from a trip to the range. That day I shot my model 696 and it's diminutive buddy, the model 60-4. 5-Shot seemed an obvious choice at the time. Good thing I don't have a Glock.

Well I see we have a few SASS shooters here. "Big Fred" is also my SASS alias.

When I went to my first SASS match I needed an alias so I figured since my name is Fred and I'm 6'5" and pushing 300 lbs. "Big Fred" would be a good alias.

Well williamlayton the reason I chose sophie as my user id (stage name if you will) is because it is the name of my 13 year old female Welsh Corgi and it seemed to be the first thing I thought of because she has a low profile. Actually my name is James.

Ever look at the trademarked name for Carl Zeiss Optik's lens and prism coating? T*.

I'm a big fan of Zeiss products and use them with great pleasure. I've compared them to many other brands under a wide variety of conditions and think that only Leica is on full par. That is my own opinion, not established results from a certified test lab, lest some other firm voice a "sour grapes" opinion. To be sure, Swarovski and the very best Japanese brands, in their top grades, are also extremely good. Some users may prefer those brands, and many are very cost-effective, too. I do use some, and they are normally very satisfactory. I mean them no disrespect. I'm just voicing a personal consumer preference.

But Zeiss has a special place in my heart and I liked that T* coating label.

Also, I live in Texas and do some amateur astronomy. Thus, Texas Star. T-Star, for short, as in T*. But I didn't use T* because it's a registered trademark, and I didn't want to request permission to use it here. That might also violate the board's copyright policy.

Well, I did what I did. Worked for a health dept. as an inspector/investigator and as a reserve deputy for thirty five years. Some one asked me once what I investigated. Well, there was the time two lovely children who tried to kill their parents with ethylene glycol or antifreeze in 7-up but forgot that once it is out of the bottle it isn't green. There was the time that two of the people I had in court killed someone by beating him with baseball bat and decided shooting him in the head with a .22 and thought cutting his head off so no one could get ballistic prints from the firearm was a good idea. They put him in the trunk of his car and set it on fire in a forest preserve. They are both in prison.

There was the daughter of a slum landlord who wouldn't pay utilities and her tenants crapped in an Igloo cooler and dumped it on the lawn who killed her father for the rent money. She didn't have to worry about the seven citations I wrote her. There was the the case of S.G. Golla and the boys, who made his sons seem, like Rhodes Scholars who shot holes in the neighbors porta pottie because they we acting uppity. His wife ran off with the septic tank money.

The boys thought they would make this up by cooking up some meth. Unfortunately they burned down the neighbors trailer. They are now incarcerated in Menard Prison for a few years to think upon the negative points of their resume. Diane S. who had a miniature Boa snake in her blouse was another one. She was camped out on the burned out remains of a house she didn't own. The county arson investigators determined the fire was arson. I spoke to S. Diane about this. She called me a Flippin' yard Nazi. I saw the head of a snake come out of her blouse. I informed her I was going to kill the snake and if it was in her blouse she would be another unfortunate statistic in my report. She removed the miniature boa and decided it was in her best interest to move. I'm glad I don't have to interact with these people anymore, but they are out there.

You know, when I first started joining forums, I probably tried that but I believe what happens is most forum software requires usernames to have a minimum number of characters, usually 3 or 4, so I had to come up with something else that worked. -OO- might work but I think it looks more like a pair of glasses than a shotgun muzzle.
