Stainless alternative finishes

I am an unrepentant lover of fine blue finish. Yes, I appreciate the rust resistance of stainless, but never have nor will care for it's soulless looks. I have a few pistols in stainless for the simple reason they were never available in blue versions. Can it be explained to me what finishes are now available that could be applied to DA revolvers that really stand up well to daily wear and abrasion? I don't think that anything could ever make them look "blue", but black, grey, or even tan would look better to my eye than stainless. Anybody have experience with a good alternative finish?

Don't have any personal experience with them, but CCR has some options that might work for you. They'd be my first choice for getting a nice, dark, durable finish. Every review I've read has been positive.

The only finish I like better than stainless is nickel.

Black nitriding is a great option for carbon steel or stainless. I've had some of each nitrided. They look great and are almost impervious to rust and wear.

CH4, those two middle pictures, those are stainless? (!!) As in a 66, not a 19?

Metalife hard chrome over blue steel is very wear resistant. This was done in 1985.
