Here's a picture of my 629 collection majority of which I acquired from a dear friend of mine that passed away and 2021. I've added the lower left and right gun to the collection in the last year . I've kinda neglected the 629s and I've been looking for model 29s and 686 and 586 models but recently these have been on my mind a little more over the last couple weeks.

Truly stunning and well-maintained beauties! What models are those 686s in the right row with unfluted cylinders? Classic hunters?

Most of my Smiths are blued, but I do have an interesting 629-1 that I acquired a few years ago. It's a factory 4" round butt, but not a Mountain Gun. It has an AVV s/n which is approximately 1987. Possibly a re-barreled Horton 3"?? One of these days, I'll letter it and find out...

It could have started life as a 3", but probably not a LH; they were in the ANCxxxx range. The 3" became a catalogued model after the initial run from LH. Nice piece, no matter its beginnings.

Yes, it did have the stalker package done by magnaport Wayne had noted it was the first one ever done by them. The original box says factory second not for sale.

The unfluted guns are also 629s One is an 8 3/8 the next one down is a 7 1/2 and then a 6 inch.
