You need one of the new WVSP melonited 4566s with the integral rail!

Nice looking guns.

I had a chance to get a wvsp melonited. But I alreayd have that state. Other then kentucky and a few others, once I get one from one state, I'm done. Thanks for looking.

Better question is does that source still have some? You probably could have bought one from him and sell it for more.

Speaking of which, I'm rather interested in getting one a KCPD 4026. I know one person had a regular 4026 for sale recently, but that one holds a little more significance to me now that I work for the KCPD, and they won't let me buy the one they have in the display case (already asked).

I don't collect to make money. I'm in it for the challenge. This has been a very difficult task. I have over 30 states as of now. This is a fun task though.

You can do both and make us aware the deals out there (esp the WVPD Melonite Integral Rail or newer trade in 4006TSW).

Montana Highway Patrol carried the 5903's but we never marked them in any way. Same with the later SIG 229's. I still see the occasional Ex MHP 5903 at Shows.

Georgia State Patrol had 5906s and 4506s, Trooopers' choice. Both were marked "GEORGIA STATE PATROL." Then plastic G22, G gap whatever that one is, now back to G17s

My Kentucky State Police 4566 that Kentucky never issued as a service pistol. Not sure on the exact quantity that were produced, but I understand all were sold. I've heard 200 to 1000 units. You see them every once in a while showing up on GB. The Hogue grips make it feel better than the originals, which a sealed up in a baggie.

This one is not a State Police pistol but along the same line. A 4516 US Marshals S&W special. I no longer have this one, passed it on to another forum member that had good intentions on its future.

Kentucky state police ordered about 1400, 4566's. They failed like 17% of the time or something like that, when firing. I'm actually not a big fan of the smith auto. I do have several as you can see. In 2004, KSP went to the Glock 35 gen 3 for a sidearm. This was the first time in the agency's history they carried a duty sidearm other then a S&W.

As far as i know Pa state police never carried S&W autos. They just switched to Sig P227 45acp. Prior to that it was G21 and before that it was Glock in 45gap. I think Beretta was the first semi auto. Philadelphia police highway patrol division is still part of Philadelphia police they always carried G17 after the S&W model 10

Not calling you out; but I've never heard of a "failure rate" even remotely this high with any LEO ordered 3rd gen Smiths.
