Got a check the first time - 1 check for both my wife and me; cashed it into our two separate bank accounts - half for her and half for me. Easy peasy.

This time, we got a credit card. Went to the bank to do the same thing with it; found out about the fee on 2 withdrawals.

Bank teller gave us the solution. One withdrawal for the full amount in exchange for "cash." Then the "cash" was distributed to our two accounts - half for her and half for me. Never saw any cash at all - it was all done via the bank's computer.

Strange new world we all live in...

What is interesting to me, and it's not about this "distribution", is you keep two separate accounts. My wife and I have always maintained our own accounts. It works well for us. Sorry about the hi-jack. Back to the subject.

Our first deposit got converted in to things that go bang. The recent $600 deposit has been set aside in my hunting account.

Now I'm in the process of writing my grandkids thank you notes for the loan and I'm really sorry I won't be around to pay it back.

What is interesting to me, and it's not about this "distribution", is you keep two separate accounts. My wife and I have always maintained our own accounts. It works well for us. Sorry about the hi-jack. Back to the subject.

Yes. We have had separate accounts since the early days of our marriage. We used to have a joint account - until I discovered when I went to pay some bills that my wife had nearly drained the account, and my checks would have bounced.

We have had separate accounts ever since... That has worked just fine.

O Happy Days!! I went to the mailbox today and found my "cheddar" check in it. It was dated January 6th, but I just got it today. So for those that have not yet received theirs, don't give up yet. Good luck!
