Storm brewing....Cajunlawyer/Charlie Sherrill

Got the boats moved, did the official court closure, set bonds on the remaining prisoners, met with the mayor to discuss curfews, got the scotch and vienna sausages, got gas in everything, tied my wife to the oak tree in the back yard so she wouldn't blow away......Think I got everything.

Think I got everything.
Not if you forgot the missus's brown trout bucket.

We got beat up pretty bad with Hurricane Beryl
In July....over $30K in damages.

New storm forming in the Gulf of Mexico today.
To be named Francine.

Heads up Cayjunlawyer and Charlie Sherrill.

Been lucky so far. Lot's of rain, not much wind. Under tornado watch. Most of the bad stuff supposed to been gone by morning. Went by the local Lowe's yesterday. Lots of trucks with utility trailers picking up plywood. All had Louisiana tags.

of course a storm is heading that way, we just planned an Anniversary trip to New Orleans in a few weeks... if Francine doesn't get you, we will be there shortly after.. lol

If your hotel gets flooded they'll run a dirty mop over the floor and be waiting on you. Go to the end of Canal St. and board the ferry over to Algiers. Don't get off on the other side and then ride it back. Then you can tell your friends you went on a river cruise. I think walk on traffic is still free.

Good to hear you aren't getting much from this storm, Charlie. It wasn't bad for us around Loreauville, LA either. I imagine Caj got it harder though as he lives a lot closer to where Francine came ashore.

That kind of stuff is one of the reasons I would never ever consider living within at least 300 miles ( preferably much farther) of the Gulf Coast. You guys can have it as far as I'm concerned.
Good luck to you, nonetheless.

P. S. - Disregard the red emoji that showed up in the upper L/H corner of this post. Don't know how it got there or how to make it go away.

Dodged a bullet-pretty much a non event in Jeanerette. Did have the misfortune of getting into a tainted bottle of scotch last night though. Feeling a bit crusty this morning......Morgan City and Terrebonne parish took some licks as did the capitol area but it could have been a lot worse. Did not loose electricity. Now we're just drying out so I can cut the grass. Thank you all for the kind wishes, thoughts and prayers. They DO help.

The wife and I cleaned up the yard this morning . No large power outages in the immediate area . Things getting back to normal . This could have been a lot worse .

Good news, bad news.
Good news. Glad it missed you and you are recovering from the bad Scotch (is there such a thing?).
Bad news. Missed opportunity. As I understand it, lite flooding is good for washing away the carcass of dead animals, such as Racoons that succumbed leaky skin disease or some other fatal accident.
