Several of mine:
I have magnetic clip on sunglasses that I lost. Two weeks later, after ordering replacement, found them on top of the air filter box of my pickup! Several trips since losing them!
Years ago my Rolex submariner could not be found! Tore the house apart, no luck!
Several months later found it on the bottom of a blanket chest, under the blankets! Chest has open grid top, so I must have lain it on top and it fell inside?
Still looking for multiple hand tools.

My worst a few years back I lost my wallet. Only a couple bucks there so that part was easy.

The bad part 4 states CW permits were in it, 2 credit cards, my driver license, medical insurance cards and a few other goodies.

I had taken a 30 mile road trip and nature called so I got out of the truck in a secluded spot. Went back to the spot and looked around, Nope!

Very frustrated and disgusted so I jumped on my 31HPD tractor and decided to move some dirt around. Backed out of where it was parked and on the ground under the big right tire there was my wallet. I was on the tractor earlier and went back retracing my steps at least 3 times. If I had not moved tractor it would not have been found till it did get moved. :D

Was in Nogales, AZ thinking about walking to Nogales other.
Passport was in my SUV center console.
Decided not to cross over, cause I might really cross over.
Later at home could not find that passport.
Was ready to file lost and apply for a new one.
I happened to move a family heirloom quilt which was laying on a table that my Dad built.
The Passport was under the quilt!

My Mom had been widowed for about 10 years and was in her late 70's. I visited her checking on her about three times a week. I came in and it was obvious that she was in a tizzy. She had misplaced her eyeglasses and needed them for some closeup needle and thread work she just had to complete soon. I started looking, she continued looking. It was a hot day and I needed some cold water. Mom kept a jug of water in her fridge for drinking purposes. I opened the fridge and the first thing I saw was her eyeglasses laid right beside the water jug. She went on and on about how dreadful it was to get 'old' and loosing 'it'.

Now, I'm in the same boat. I usually don't need reading glasses, but when doing very fine work on my bench I use a set of readers. I got to the point where I needed the eye help and started looking for my reading glasses. Not long ago, I was getting frustrated because I couldn't find them. I reached up to scratch my head and found my readers pushed back on the top of my head. Mom, I know how you felt. .... :-(

I used to get the great big cans of Planters Cashew pieces from Sam's and I saved the cans for various uses in the barn. One day I lost my cell phone and searched everywhere for it. Tried calling it numerous times and could never hear the ringer. Finally gave up and replaced the phone. Several years later I was in the barn cleaning and throwing out excess "stuff". I picked up a paper grocery bag with 4 of the big Planters cans stacked inside and heard something rattling around. Emptied the bag and low and behold inside one of the cans was the d#%* phone I had lost. To this day I cannot figure out the chain of events that got that phone inside a can, into the bag and then into the barn.

If I irritate the Better Half here I sometimes en up with strange items in a specific and particular strange and at times painful place. :)

When I was young I was doing a gig in another city when I realized I couldn't find my house keys. Car keys, yes. Called my Dad to apologize that I would be back after midnight and had no keys. He was remarkably cool about it.

Got home and Dad must of heard me park in the street because he came outside. "Lock your car up good. You probably dropped them in there and can't find them in the dark." Something went click in my mind and I walked to the front and opened the hood. Yep, there they were sitting on the rail near the hood lock. They'd been there for a 120 mile trip, too. You see I always checked the fluids on that old car before setting off somewhere major (that's anything more than 30 miles in England :)) and I must have put down my house keys while doing it. Phew!

I have been missing a set of clip on’s for a month now. I usually just wear them in the car because my transition glasses don’t work so well inside the car. I’ve been missing my Honda key fob for years. one day I pulled in the garage and I never saw it again. It’s the one you keep in your pocket and just push the button to start the car.
I’ve been missing a nice Canon camera for the longest time. I left to go to a car race and I took it to the car with me and it wasn’t there when I arrived so I assume I left it on the roof or the trunk.
So my post is more about the stuff that didn’t turn up anywhere.
When I moved in 2017 I couldn’t find my passport and we were going to Iceland. My girlfriend found it in the bathroom vanity in a box with bathroom stuff. Why would I put it there?

I had to go to the new insurance agent's office yesterday, and walked out of the condo without my phone. After the agent, I went to a nice little Italian restaurant a few miles from home, when I stood up to go pay my bill my wallet wasn't there! I made arrangements to pay later and started retracing my steps. At a few hours I went to the bank to cancel my card (Took two hours!) I drove to the restaurant gave the guy a $20 for their trouble and was on my way to the strip mall to see if it might be there. My wife calls and says she found it! In the bathroom up against the toilet behind the bowl. I swear I looked there 3 times. No harm, no foul. Except I don't have a credit card, for gas and lunch, and most importantly, FOR GUNS.

A week to 10 days to get a new card? A different local bank has them on hand and just hands you a new one!

My trusty Gerber "boot" knife disappeared one day and never turned up. Fast forward twelve years whilst packing to move to our new home I sorted out a stack of wicker baskets we had accumulated and part way down the stack there it was in an oval basket. How it got there who knows but oh joy!

We have a shed and a garage across our back yard and not connected to the house. Both are padlocked and we keep the keys hanging on a hook by the back door on the same key ring.
Anyway, my wife got something out of the shed earlier today and when I was headed out to the garage to get my grill out so I could cook a coupla steaks, smoke a cigar and drink a beer on a sunny warm summer day, the keys were missing.
We 'bout turned the house upside down lookin' for those keys when my wife called me from the back of the house and pointed at the shed.
She had left the keys hanging on the padlock on the shed.
I have an extra garage key on my key ring and she has an extra shed key but still, we don't wanna lose keys.

Pants to an expensive Gore-Tex rain suit. Disappeared for several years and I had given up thinking I left them somewhere on a golf trip or vacation. Was cleaning out my chest of drawers of old clothing, pulled out all the drawers. There they were in the bottom of the chest where they apparently had fallen out behind of the last drawer and dropped to the bottom.

I have a complete rain suit again!

I have had a St. Christopher medal that my dad carried throughout WWII on my key ring ever since I was old enough to be trusted with a key to the house. In 2002 I was going through airport security and they made me remove one of those 2" long combo screwdriver/bottle opener/nail file/knife blade folding tools and they confiscated it. A few minutes later I noticed that the St. Christopher medal was missing. I felt like crying. I went back to the checkpoint and they let me look around to see if it was laying on the floor or something. Nope.
A few weeks later I went to the hardware store to get a couple of extra keys for a house that I just bought. When I got back in my car I accidentally dropped one of the keys and it fell between the seat and console. I got out of the car and reached under the seat to retrieve it and felt a round object. Somehow I immediately knew what it was. Yep, it was the medal. How it got off of my key ring and fell under the seat sometime before my incident at the airport I will never know. I hadn't missed it prior to the airport. Maybe my dad was helping me find it from the afterlife ?

I still haven't found my primary set of keys, they've been missing for a few months now, just about the time the lockdown started....

I lost a set of company Master Keys! 18 months later I had one of my men clean an apartment full of trash out (the basement was 3 foot deep). A couple days later, he told me he found a Daktronics (sp?) carabiner with keys on it! Yes, that was them. I always carried 2 sets and had made a replacement. I had assumed they had got away from me in a snow drift, not a trash drift!

Sometimes there not even in the last place you look!

I "lost" a DSLR camera during a trip. Got home, unpacked. A few days later I was looking for the camera and couldn't find it. Decided I must have left it in the hotel room. Called the hotel. Nope, they had not found it. Figuring it was gone, I ordered a new one from B&H. Really like the new one.

A few weeks later I moved some of my wife's clothes on top of a chest and what did I find? Yup, the "lost" camera. Now I have a spare.
