Just noticed my 625PC 's trigger screw looks different than the one illustrated in the S&W website pictures. That gun's stop seems to be an Allen screw that sticks out. My brand new 625PC (which never has been fired by me) seems to have a roll pin that is flush with the trigger. Or? Could it be my revolver's screw is broken off? Any way, the trigger action seems smooth and fine for me. I would just like to know if anyone has seen this and is it OK?

It is ok, just doesn't do anything, that is the way S&W done it for a while. The roll pin was easy to use.

Thank's Bullseye.

You're always very forthcoming with expert advise. By the way did you receive my plug order?

This is the way that they have been for as long as I can remember. There have not been allen screws in the decade or two that I have been buying PC revolvers. I doubt that they ever used them.

FYI, most of the firearm images that you see on S&Ws site are not photographs, they are 3d computer renderings. What looks like an allen head is probably just an optical trick of your monitor.

To the OP:

Does your trigger stop actually function?

The trigger stop on my recently purchased PC was ground down so far that it never touched the frame.

S&W fixed it for me, but yours looks pretty short, like mine did, in your picture.

Good luck!

I don't want to appear stupid Bob, but...

I'm not sure. When I pull the trigger all the way it stops about 1/8" fom the frame. If that helps.

Cock it, and dry fire it, when you get ready to pull the trigger - pull real slow and watch. Does the hammer drop just about the time the stop will touch the frame? Or when you pull the trigger all the way back does it touch the frame? If it doesn't touch the frame it doesn't work :D .

The Trigger Stop on my 627-PC sticks out & when i pull the trigger it lacks a "mili-second" from touching the back & hammer falls.

No it doesn't.

Like I said earlier the trigger stops about an 1/8 of inch from the frame. Mind you I carried a combat masterpiece for over 20 years until we transitioned to Sigs so I'm familiar with S&W revolvers. I just don't know what a trigger stops purpose is or why it's something desireable.

If I recall correctly, old time PPC shooters would set up their trigger stop to fire with one thickness of a dollar bill between the trigger guard and stop, but not fire with two thicknesses. Minimum overtravel helps reduce muzzle movement when the trigger breaks.
