Hi,

I just got my M&P 15-22 and am very happy with it. Only shot about 350 rounds through it, but no issue so far. I also have a Walther PPQ 9mm and was thinking of getting a Streamlight TLR-4 (light/laser) for that pistol. However, I now am wondering if the TLR-4 will also fit the M&P?
Anybody has this laser on their M&P and if so, are you happy with it? Also would appreciate pictures of this combination.

Thanks a lot.

I'd wave you off the TLR-4.

I had a TLR-3, same light, no laser. I used it on my Glock as a WML for EDC. It survived a little over a year then the polymer frame cracked at the rail mount.

One half of the rail mount is metal, the other side is polymer and it snapped. As far as I can tell no excessive force was used when attaching the light. No tools were used, that's for sure.

This is a known and well documented fault with the TLR-3/4 series.

It was shipped back to Streamlight and I have not heard anything from them in a month.

I have had a TLR-4 on my Glock 17 for 6 months, and have been very pleased. Sorry you are having a problem. I am also surprised that their Customer Service has not been responsive.

Do you also sometimes switch it over to your M&P 15-22?

I bought the TLR-4 for my Glock 19 and am happy with it for the pistol. I put it on my 1522 and it just doesn't look right. I don't think it is intended for a rifle but it will fit on there.

I just got my TLR3 back from Streamlight. They did have it for a few weeks, and their communication was less than stellar, but at the end they sent me a brand new light. Mine looked identical to the one in the photos above. Can't say I have any idea how it happened (noticed it in the range bag), but they stood behind it either way.

I'm glad you guys are getting good use out of them. I loved the light, it was really bright for the size and I loved how it worked. The beam design was great with the hot spot and the fill.

It was also super compact which was the main goal.

The only thing I didn't like was the switch setup. I'd prefer a DG style switch. But as a light it was great.

Until it broke.

Aaaaand look what arrived today. It's hilarious. They sent back my original box, which had lived outside for the year I was using the light, with a brand new TRL-3 in it.

It looks like they have beefed up the problem area as well. I will compare it to my other pics asap.

Good for you!! And while you are at it, throw it on your M&P 15-22 and take a picture of that too ;)

Thanks.

I went with a trl1s for my ppq and couldn't be happier. I have a different set up on my 15-22 by I could use the trl on it if I needed to
