We bought one sight unseen 10 years ago. But we knew we were going to have to remodel a good bit going in. I knew it wasn't going to get done in time even though the contractor said no problem. We had the movers pick all our stuff up and store it and moved into one of those long-term-stay hotels for a couple of months.

I think you made the right decision keeping it the way the market is right now.
