I'm a hammer man myself. Main reason I got the S&W 380. I just feel more comfortable carrying a hammer gun rather than a striker fired one. Does anyone make hammer guns anymore on polymer frames?? I own an M&P9 WITH safety that I really like but it would be even better if it was a hammer fired weapon rather than striker fired. Just don't like the idea of there always being tension on the firing pin

Over the last 30+ years, I think that the striker design has proven itself to be safe and reliable.

Having said that, if you're looking for a more "traditional" auto pistol, I believe that Sig Sauer, Walther, HK, and FN all still make what you're looking for.

There are also deals to be had on the used market.

Check (pun intended) out the CZ po-7, po-9. Very nice polymer pistols with hammers. Also look at the Beretta PX series. Very underrated. They're a little hefty in width, but again very nice hammer fired pistols. I had a PX-4 compact that falls into the "maybe I should'a kept that one" category.

I prefer a hammer on anything I carry/shoot. Guess I'm just old school that way.
That said, I have drunk the kool-aid and purchased "a few" striker fired guns over the years. M&P's mostly. I like them well enough based on their other features. Still, when I'm not caring my 360pd J frame, my favorite carry is the little BG380 with a hammer. :-)

Beretta PX4, Sig P2022, HK has a few that come to mind...USP, P30, P2000. Not familiar with the CZ or FN lines.

I hear ya on the hammer, I like them, too... For polymer frame with hammer, check out the CZ P09 (pretty big gun) and P07 (Glock 19 size...), as well as the H&K guns like the P30, USP series, and for a smaller carry gun the P30SK. I really like the H&K and the CZ guns; good stuff...

I think everyone above have hit about all of them. I personally really like the HK USPc, but I have heard good things about the Sig 2022 and P250, the CZ and FNX.
