I think in most states the criminal will be liable for the hearing loss of innocents because he created the situation and forced someone to defend their life. That could even apply to missed shots by the good guy hitting innocents (provided the good guy absolutely had no choice but to shoot). I'm curious what our fellow forumite lawyers think. Either way, I agree with Wyatt, I want the wildest meanest cartridge I can handle if someone is trying to kill me.
