We are getting close to settling a record, here in Nashville for the actual days this year, that the actual temperature was over 90 degrees. I'm talking real temperature, not with heat index.

Today's temperature is supposed to be 90 again? That's not counting heat index or humidity. Here it is, the middle of September and 90 degrees again today. When will it end???

It's taken a toll on me this year. I was out at 11:00-11:30 pm last night replacing the new license plate stickers on two of our cars and it was still 80 degrees. It still felt like a furnace. The driveway pavement was still scorching hot. And thought I was being smart by waiting till late to do it, instead of waiting till today? WRONG!

I'm NOT getting into the debate over the whole global warming issue. I don't know and don't care. Nothing I can do about it, anyway. What's done is done. And I'm not a weather person, nor do I play one on TV. But I'm just sick and damn tired of this heat. Our bushes are burnt, our yards are past burnt. Leaves are falling early because the trees are suffering. I went through a slight rain shower the other day and it was so hot, when the sprinkles hit my windshield they disappeared instantly, because of the heat, I didn't have to use the wipers.

We've got a little spring fed creek in the back of our property, it used to have crawfish, snapping turtles, frogs, tadpoles and minnows. It's almost completely dried up. It used to be beautiful! My grandson asked me the other day when we out walking the dog at dusk, what happen to the critters in the creek? He used to love to watch the creek critters interact? I said if they were smart they moved up north? I hated to tell him, they probably boiled to death?

I still have to function everyday, but this year has been hard, it's taken a toll on me. No cool evenings, the pavement is crazy hot, even at midnight. It's making our electricity bill stay sky high. We're using more gas/fuel in our vehicles trying to keep the AC going. I dread going out in it everyday, but I have too.

When Will It End??

I feel for you, I hate 90's as well. It's cooled off here, highs around 70 this week, perfect. It should be coming your way soon.

We've been in the same boat here in SC for the last three years, with each successive year worse than the one before. :(

If change persists at this rate, our grandkids are in trouble. Greenland is looking better every day.

You should try living down here near Tampa in the summer! Been one of the hottest summers I have seen in 30 years of living down here. Oh did I also mention the "humidity"?

Weather just started getting nice here, and by "just started" I mean this weak. ALL of July and August were unbelievably hot and humid. 90 degrees would be a welcome chill. Constantly just under 100 with 98% humidity. This week with the exception of Wednesday has been sunny, clear skies, and mid 70s to low 80s. Absolutely beautiful!

I guess age plays a factor but I didn't consider it suffering. It sucked and was uncomfortable and I was outside often.....one day we had to clear the lot at work for pavers. I was soaked. But after a few min I didn't know the difference

Whoopie, it's already 90 here in Nashville and it feels like 94. We are losing about 2" of pool water every 2 days due to evaporation. So add the high water bill to my list.

The only good thing about all this, we're not cutting grass except about every 2 1/2 - 3 weeks due to the scorching heat. And then it's to catch the strange scraggly weeds, not the actual grass. And when we do, it's a big ole dust cloud.

But like everyone says, in three months, we'll be complaining about the cold weather??

But it seems the cold weather don't affect me as bad. I can always bundle up a little more and get warm, verses getting cooler in this heat. I can't strip down to any less clothing that I'm wearing now. I'd probably get arrested!

Hey, us in Texas consider your weather comfortable. You haven't felt anything until you experience a Texas summer. Try running your AC 24 hours a day for months at a time beginning in May and continuing until October. I empathize with you but I would take your weather now over ours.

That's nothing compared to our continuing heat wave. Our actual temps been hovering 97-98-99 degrees-w/ heat-factor nearing 120. Our humidity has been at least 85% for several weeks-high dew-point==VERY bad time for all who venture outdoors. It was 96 when I passed the temp sign at about 11:00.

Here-we have been in the upper 90s daily since early May--it still lingers on.

90 is sort of a cool day here compared to what we had been experiencing...Have no pavement just grass and dirt.....I don't complain......Stay outside most of each day......Thankful that the Lord has given me this day......Usually finish the evening in a deer stand.

It has been abnormally hot here since May. It doesn't help I'm 40 lbs overweight. 88-98 degrees for 4 months. Hasn't dropped below 80 degrees at night during that period. All the while day and night humidity was 90+. Last winter was nothing compared to previous years. I kinda expected a hot summer. It doesn't help they've paved over every available farmfield for 30 miles south of me and built new sub divisions.

Just checked. It's 8:05 pm and its 81 degrees and feels like 84.

I was born and raised here in Nashville. We used to have 4 beautiful seasons. Now we have only 2! Winter and summer!

I'll take our weather here in Arizona any day to you guys in high humidity areas. It was 97 today and didn't even break a sweat, it's actually really nice to be out and about. More and more people our figuring this out and moving in by droves, and it doesn't hurt that we have the best gun laws. It really is a dry heat and we have 9 months of great weather.......Just finished BBQ carne asada and eating on the patio watching a beautiful sunset.....

I wish it was still in the 90's. We had some triple digit days this summer and I enjoyed every sunny minute of it.
We don't have air conditioning. Just a coupla fans.
Today felt like Autumn, cloudy with a high of 71.
I know that the leaves'll start turning soon and the tourists'll be out to ooh and aah at all the pretty colors.
They do bring money to the area but ya gotta endure some pretty poor driving from them for a while.
