Does anyone know which subsonics cycle well through the 15-22? I have had great success with the CCI Green tags, but they are hard to find in my area. Tried some Remington subsonics last night but had several Failure-To-Ejects.

My 15-22 shoots its best groups with Aguila Match rifle which is subsonic at 1080 FPS. But i run the lighter JP spring set.
If you do the 15 minute trigger job it should lighten the springs enough to run then fine also, As thats how i first started.
Id suggest no cutting of legs, Just bend it where they say cut that way you can always bend it back if you don't get the results you want.

The reason is the hammer spring is very heavy and is .223 strength even tho the recoil spring on the bolt is set up for a .22
It takes alot of pressure to overcome that spring being so heavy.

Thanks DasFriek. I've already got the JP yellow springs installed. Sounds like we went down the same path as I also did the 15 min trigger job first. I like the feel using the JP's more. I'll give the Aguila ammo a try. Did you have to buy it online or did you find it at a retailer? In my town there is Bass Pro, Academy and Walmart but the only subs they stock are the Remingtons.

I tried the Rem Subsonics and they work great in my rifle
Also tired Aquila and that works great also
Those two are the only ones that are available in my area.

I've shot the Rem sub sonics out of several different guns (15/22, 77/22, S&W M41) and have had very poor accuracy and a lot of failure to fires. Eley Club, Green Tags, and Lapua all shoot great and don't have the mis-fires like the Remingtons do. But the Lapua's don't seem very quite through my suppresor.

If you have the j&p springs most everything I've shot has fed... I have gotten really good groups out of the wolf match extra... and anything that is eley primed is good stuff including the aguila ammo

Anyone tried the Winchester subsonic?

Picked up a box today, wondering if I should run them in the 15-22 or 22A ...

Thanks all. TC- I ran a box of 500 Winchester Subs through this weekend with only 1 or 2 FTEjects. Until I can find some more Green Tags this is what I will use for accuracy shooting out to 100 yds. Much better groups than Fed Bulk but about twice the cost.

The only subsonics that I've ever shot through my DUAxxxx series S&W M&P 15-22, blue springs & 2nd generation mags, are cartons of Aquila's 60gr SSS Sniper SubSonic 22 Long Rifle. No FTF or FTE. Other shooters locally have reported identical results with their older series of S&W M&P 15-22, blue springs, 2nd generation mags, and this ammo.

Two forum members here have reported that these 60gr rounds keyhole in their S&W M&P 15-22 rifles. They presume is because of the rifle's 1:15" or 1:16' barrel twists. I have NEVER experienced this, and neither has anyone else I shoot with, on paper targets out to 50 yards. Perhaps I'll waste a few rounds at a 100yd paper target next month to test for keyholes at that range.

We consistently have had one shot kills with these 60gr SubSonics, targeting the head or heart. They are noticeably quieter than your average 22 Long rifle ammo. Last weekend we discovered that they are quieter than the sound of heavy rain falling.

Sorry i missed your question.
http://www.ammunitiontogo.com is where i buy my target ammo.
My 15-22 loves the Aguila Match rifle.
Ive not tried much other subsonic threw my 15-22, But ive shot the Aguila Subsonic SuperExtra and Eley sport in my CZ 452 Ultra Lux and all shot very well.
I have shot Wolf Match Extra in my 15-22 but it was a waste imo as the gun just cant take advantage of such good ammo. Meaning i couldn't tell any difference in it over the Aguila MR.

If im gonna shoot my 15-22 for accuracy you can bet ill be using a subsonic round. My gun responds so much better to them.

Even the Aguila 60gr ive tried with decent success and no keyholes at 50 yards. It would make a great varmint round for around the garden.

Everyday plinking tho mine is fed a steady diet of what ever bulk Federal i can get my hands on. Preferably the 510 series round.

Here is a target from my range day i used the 15-22 off of sandbags with a CenterPoint 4-16x40 scope.

Thanks all. I can't find any of the Aguila match locally but continue to hear only good things about it. I guess I'll have to buy some online.
This is what I'm getting out of the Winchester Subsonics @ 50 yds. To me it would be acceptable grouping if I could eliminate the flyers.

I've been playing around with subsonics. I've had the best luck with the CCI green tags. They are quieter than the SS Sniper. Went through 500 green tags with no issues.

No problem cycling Winchester subsonics yesterday, but they didn't seem that much quieter or more accurate, although we were shooting at 6-7000 feet, so they could still be supersonic...

The 22A didn't like them at all though.
