We replaced our old 8x8 garden shed recently.

The shed was beat to **** so we tore it down, but the base is pristine, so I kept it to hopefully use as a base for a shed on my property some 60 miles away.

The problem is how to transport it. It’s constructed with some heavy-duty spiral nails. A lot of them. So I couldn’t disassemble it without destroying the lumber.

I’ve got tons of ratchet straps, but not a high level of confidence they cold hold it on edge through the trip.

Any solution costing more that about $40 isn’t going to be worthwhile.

What will you use to move it?
Trailer - how wide, how long?
Pickup - how long is the bed? Anything, a cover, tie downs, etc on bed sides?
Most places, 8' wide is not a "wide load" and the deck can be laid flat and strapped down to the truck bed or trailer side rails.

Your budget limits problem solutions.

Take it apart and transport it in the back of a pickup or an appropriate trailer.

Heavy haulers use tilt trailers and their services aren't cheap.

Ford pickup trucks with dual rear wheels are up to 96" wide and street legal. Lay it down on the trailer, strap it, and go. Just drive carefully.

Legal width to tow without a "wide load" placard is 8 feet, 6 inches. Center it on a flatbed and flag the sides that hang over the trailer edge. Easier to strap down when it lies flat, no side loads from the wind.

Assuming it will sit on leveled ground just cut it in half. Take the 4x8 sections to its new home and set the two halves on the ground...its a shed, if your budget is only $40 then having a joint down the middle of the floor probably won't bother you.

Cut it into two pieces between the floor joists (don’t need to be the same size) add a joist to each section flush with the cut. When you unload it ,lay it upside down and nail the new joists to each other, then flip it over.

Thanks, that sounds perfect:
