Super clean Model 60

When I first started looking at Model 36s and 60s, paying over about $250-300 would have been out of the question. In spite of a severe decline in interest in most revolvers in the market, these two just continue to forge ahead. If I were looking for another 60, I wouldn't hesitate at $495 for one in that obviously fine condition. If you have had a 12 year relationship with your GF, you already know this will be a great fit for her use. Congratulations and well done!

Well, I'm pleased to report that she's in love with her birthday present! I gave it to her Wed evening after dinner, and never mentioned shooting it ...on purpose. Last night just before leaving work she texted me and said she want to shoot her new revolver. So after I got home, we grabbed hearing and eye protection....the 2 boxes of .38 spl I also gave her and walked down to my range. I grabbed my 36 no dash and a box of 50 125 grain Gold dots...haven't seen a box of 50 in a long time so I bought one at $22. So we went down, I sprayed the plates black and had her take 5 careful dry fire shots. Then she loaded the cylinder and started ringing plates at 10 yards. We eventually moved back to 15 yards...and she went down the line ringing steel plates left to right, even the two 6" ones. A few more cylinders worth and she was getting some nice groups, and ringing the full size IPSC 35 yard plate. Both us even tried lobbing out to the 50 yard 16" gong ...but it was just lob until you know where the sites need to be and then we got a few rings. So, it was a fun night on the range...with her model 60, and my model 36. We were shooting way past what the guns are meant for...missing plenty at that range and hitting enough to laugh. She got some nice "defensive range" groups too. I don't now if S&W intended for these little J frames to be so much fun...but they sure are! :)

Very nice. I have been looking for a nice clean one like that for less than five bills so I don't think you overpaid. Quite a few dogs out there for that much or more.

You did good OP... I bought 3 mint "J" frames... all M36's two years ago from an estate sale. A 77', 78', and 79' were their dates of manufacture. None of them were shot outside the factory, no turn lines, not a scratch on them. They looked to have been put in a safe and never touched... just like yours. I paid $500 each for them and would do it all over again to get them in that condition.
Of course they've all been shot and carried. But you can do that without making them look like they've been thrown down a driveway!:D

What a stellar "Date Night"... I'm happy for you! And a girl friend of 12 years... Mine at the end of year 3 told me if she wasn't engaged by the end of summer that I needed to look for my own apartment. I bought the ring 3 weeks before summer ended in 2007' and have been happily married ever since!

My wife loves her M642 with Tyler-T. She carries it almost everywhere and loves "Date-Night" at the range too... then dinner of course. I never mind and look forward to these dates!
