Suppressed 22 handgun advice

If you want to be fancy, you can get a shrouded suppressor barrel for a 10/22.

A 4.5" barrel is the threshold for staying subsonic with high velocity/bulk pack ammo. It's wearing a 5.5" flash hider below.

I took a video of that one before it got fancy.

Agree 100%

+1 on both these combos. I have the identical pair. I live in a regular subdivision with about 6 foot block walls between houses. I had a friend come over and take my Mk IV (suppressed) with standard velocity CCI and shoot at a metal gong and two bowling pins in my back yard. I went out front to see what I would hear. One ping (the gong fell over) and two twicks (about the sound of a small ax hitting some wood). Unless you were listening hard and you knew what to listen for, there is no way either of these setups are going to sound like you hunting varmints to your neighbors.
I too have a Surefire Ryder 22A that does good service for my needs. I have several threaded .22 LR pistols that I use but most often it's attached to my Ruger MKIV. It's one of my go to guns for dispatching masked bandits that try to raid the chicken house at night.

If one is serious about accuracy AND noise, though, I agree that a long gun does a better job. My S&W 15-22 is set up to dispatch vermin night raiders with a 5mW green laser, tactical weapons light, and suppressor. With subsonic rounds the only noise it makes is the bolt cycling. With this setup neighbors in the suburbs won't be aware you're taking care of business in the night and you'll have much better control of where the bullet goes.
