Was on Glock Talk in their guns for sale section and came across a gentleman selling a SW 4691. Never heard of one. His info states it is a transitional model to the 6904. Something like 200 made. Any input?
First off, thanks to JRW113 for being intrigued enough by my GlockTalk listing to get me to (finally) join the S&W Forum.
snw19_357 is exactly right. What I have is a 4691 with Serial # RSR14xx.
Searching this forum for '4691' I found a late 2010 thread titled "Mod 6592 - RSR 3299" where in post #7 a user gives seemingly credible info for several 'transitional' RSR models including the 4691. For 4691 it says 153 were made within serial range RSR1294-RSR1468.
I put it for sale on GlockTalk because I frequent there. In next short while I'll also list it for sale here if I can figure out the system.
'Why' I've been asked......I'm shooter not a collector, so it might be more valuable to someone who will appreciate it's rarity. And it will be priced that it makes it worth my while, and if it doesn't sell then, oh well, back in the safe.
