I just looked a used SW99 for $389.00. Looks hardly shot. Do you guys think it is worth the price? Also was this caliber only available for 1 year?

You rarely see them for sale in my neck of the woods. If you want it, that seems like a good price to me.

IIRC, the .45 was released about a year after the SW99 launched and was offered until the SW99 was discontinued. Price isn't bad. The SW99 .45 is a bit bulky for a 9+1. A M&P .45 can offer more capacity in a similar sized package.

I think highly of the P99/SW99 series of guns. The .45 caliber version is a great polymer, striker fired, commander sized, quality, reliable, accurate, 9 + 1, DA/SA gun with a decocker. If that's the kind of gun you're looking for, the SW99 .45 for less than $400 would be hard to beat.

The only thing negative I have to say about mine, as gmchenry pointed out, is that it seems like the mags should hold more than 9 rounds.

I know Walther never offered a P99 in 45 but it's amazing how much better looking is the actual Walther gun with their slide and barrel, relative to the SW99 series...

Something about those eagle over n proof marks!

Got the price lowered. $309.00. Bought new in 2003 with box, paperwork,2 mags, backstraps lnib. Couldn't say no. Hope it is a good shooter.

I paid almost double for my 45 M&P more than a year ago so I expect you got a great deal!
