SW model 37 question

I bought this 37 no dash air weight, looks basically new.
I'm puzzled by the 2 Allen head screws, factory?

Looks like a pocket clip was mounted to the side of the frame…

It sure doesn't look like my M37. Mine has been carried a lot. Some of the black paint and blue are worn away on the edges. Still a great little 5 shooter.

Nice find! I agree on the "clip" reason for those screws. Mine is a flat latch in 3"

Can't recall what dash mine is but it's in nearly new condition. I bought a new blue one in the late 70's and traded it for a Colt Mustang for my wife. Got rid of both, the wife and M37, and wish I had my blue M37 back.
