Hey guys, new to the forums. I purchased a SW 40GVE second hand. Since ammo is getting scarce/expensive I decided to start gathering supplies to press some target ammo. Problem is, all I can find are lead bullets, Is the 40GVE rated to shoot lead ammo?

I have fed my 40 and 9mm all kinds of ammo with no issues. I know its no official answer but have 2500 rounds through each with no FTF's.

Yes.
Usual precautions apply:
1. Keep the copper and lead cleaned out
2. Find a load that does not produce significant leading
