Have you tried doing a Search (s) here ? That usually works pretty well for me, at least to get started.

I own an SW9m

It is the right size, weight & thickness for a concealable
& why I wish S&W would do a single stack M&P

I like it for the most part but to be honest the jury is still out on how well I like it

It tends to have a stout recoil
and I find I am not nearly as accurate with it as with my 3914

the SW9m <STRIKE>& SW40M</STRIKE> has a steel slide
the 380 version had a zinc slide and was thus prone to more problems

I have a SW380. After a trip back to the factory right after I bought it new, it is reliable.
It is a point-and -shoot backup gun not intended for extensive range use. I am not comfortable with carying it as a primary weapon.
It is no longer made.

I'm with you on this, Jeff. Why can't S&W give us what we want in a small, sub-compact weapon??? My 5906 is TOO heavy to carry but I like it and the way it functions.

Huh? Was there an "SW40M?" I absolutely do not recall there being a .40 S&W version of the SW9M.

Shawn there wasn't a 40cal version. S&W realized it was probably the worst gun they've ever produced and stopped production after only a year or so. I had an SW380 and it was really a cheap firearm. If you want a nice little pocket gun look at the J-frame 5 shot airweights. I wear one on my ankle as a back-up and forget it's even there. If there's one type of gun Smith is second to none on, it's revolvers. Another option is the compact M&P9. I've read nothing but good about them and my full-size M&P40 has been fantastic.

thanks for all the input everyone, sounds like its a hit or miss deal, i really like the feel of the sw9m and the look, i know its plain, but certain guns have a style all there own. bottom line thay have to work if its a carry gun. i guess the jury is still out on this one? anyone else have one, please chime in.

I have had one 9mm and two .380's, no longer own them but they are with friends or family and still going strong. Not the highest quality firearm made but mine worked well.

I know where a .380 Sigma is for sale if you are searching for one.

I had one of each shortly after they came out. The 9mm had to be sent back early in life, but S&W fixed it and it was reliable after that. The .380 was very reliable, but the finish came off the slide in a very short time. Both required a roll pin be driven out in order to take down which was a pain.

I just received a 9m as a gift last weekend. It came with 3 clips and from all appearances it hasn't been used a whole lot. I joined the forums because I've been a S&W guy for quite awhile, my first gun was a model 19 combat magnum with a 6 inch barrel (definitely not a carry gun), and yes, I do still have it.
