I searched this forum and see where I am not the only one that has has issues with the above mentioned pistol. I have had it for several years and it was bad when I first got it but due to military moves and being overseas for an extended period I had put it in storage. I have since gotten it out of storage and when I went to shoot it I remembered the light primer strikes, misfiring, and general all around unreliability of this pistol.

I emailed S&W about returning it for repair. They want me to send it in for repair and I am hesitant since doing a search on this issue.

I see where a few years ago they were 'confiscating' the pistol and sending a different full size model back. I am wondering if anyone has returned one of these older SW9M models in recently and if this is still what they are doing. I do NOT want a full size SIGMA!!! I already have a safe full of full size 9MM's.

No info on returns but it should be easy enough to try a new striker spring to see if it cures your light striking issue. Apex tactical makes an entire fire control spring kit for these guns for $23 delivered. You tube has the video that walks you through the install. Just put the kit in my 9P. Very nice.

I'm with wee I wouldn't send it back to Smith. Either get the Apex kit or find a stock striker spring. If you don't feel confident doing it take it to a gunsmith, cause there are small parts that can fly out and be lost.
